This hilarious post by ENDSILENCE is wonderful, and I am sick and bored, therefore going to shamelessly try my hand at a list like hers...
1. I am smart
So I'm probably tooting my own horn, here, but guys have honestly told me things like "You have a brain bigger than anyone deserves to have" and "You use too many big words". Coupled with a tendency to read at least a book a day, I suppose that this factor is a little intimidating, especially to high school boys. It makes me furious that my intelligence is construed as a turn-off, but there you have it.
2. I am a complete introvert
Due to an interesting combination of both biological and environmental factors, I am not exactly what can be called a "people person". I often come off as aloof or shy, and take a while to warm up to and trust people. I am certainly not the life of the party (preferring more casual settings with fewer people) and crave alone time.
3. I am tough
I
will stand up for myself, and am not afraid to speak my mind, another factor I've heard makes me intimidating (again, how obnoxious!). If someone sleazy is trying to hit on me, I have absolutely no compunctions about ignoring them - and, if they persist, no compunctions about telling them exactly how sleazy they are.
4. I have emotional baggage up the wazoo
Kind of reluctant to go into the full scope of this baggage in such a public forum, but let it be said that it's there, it's staying, and is potentially detrimental to the formation of a healthy relationship.
5. I am clumsy as hellI routinely bang into: walls, chairs, doors, shelves, people, etc. Basically anything within a five foot radius of me is in danger of being collided with, dropped, or who else knows what. As my mother put it: "Thank god we didn't name you Grace".
6. I analyze everything
People often tell me I should be a psychologist, and this hobby is why. It's great for english class and helping my friends deal with problems, but I have found that with high school guys there is very rarely a deeper meaning.
